As admin I have used execclient and it is very useful when you need to help even the teams a bit. Ex: Ts up 10-1...T is using AWP...kickin all CTs ass...I make him drop weapon...and YAY! He gets the point and doesn't awp untill the matches get close.



It just really depends, but I've had good experiences with it as admin and as a player.

Execclient can kiss my ass. It's bad enough getting banned from servers by noobs who think I'm cheating because "OMG I SHOT THEM THRU TEH WALL?!?>~!@!@!@.1", but then to have them unbind, rebind, fuck will all my shit is just plain retarded. Worst thing ever award!

I cant possibly tell you how anoying it is when you kill the admin 6 rounds in a row and then he starts slapping around the map. Someone should make a mod that automatically reverses the effect of those commands when executed on you. that would definitly be a funny show

got banned from german server the other day, for consntantly killing 5+ ppl per round. silly teenage admins

well if the teams are unbalanced, thats tough shit isnt it?

why should the admin control the game, just leave it alone and take care of cheaters and teamkillers, thats the only 2 reasons there shouldbe an admin on the server: teamkillers, cheaters.



hell, even teamkillers are not a problem now with ATAC style plugins etc.



i dislike admins like you (from your example above) that punish people for playing the game the way they like it, and not for playing it the way the admin likes it. an admin shouldnt be in the spotlight but sitting quietly in the background getting rid of cheats/annoying players. a player who is using a powerful weaopn to help his team win is just playing the game, if thats too hard for you to handle, tough. >(

In league play it's necessary for enforcing standards among the players config files for an even playing field. The last thing you'll find on public servers is an equal playing field in a 16v16 iceworld environment, so it's not needed there.



Althought I haven't seen too many admins abuse it or even use it in a while. And come to think of it, i have seen more cheaters than admins in the past few months. Where have they gone

I've seen admins use it for good before, like when someone was lagging, an admin asked him what kind of internet connection he had, and changed his rate to match that, and changed a few other things too, all with good effects. But I've only seen that done once, lol.

execclient has more good uses than bad uses. Ever see that episode of the simpsons where they have that video about zinc at the school, "come back zinc"? Well if execclient disappeared you'd realise how half you favourite HL addons wouldn't work anymore.

Would it really be that hard for adminmod developers to disallow "execclient player bind ..." or "execclient player unbindall" etc? Some commands have a use in execclient but others (binds) have only a potential for abuse.

Well, if everybody here hates execclient being used so much, set your config.cfg to read-only. When some binds get executed on you, hit esc, and resume, and its back to normal. Simple problem solved :)



As for the poll, is there no neutral? i honestly couldn't give a damn.

I've had my keys rebinded a few times, and it's a pain man. Luckily I always make backups now. Stupid abusive admins, I'd like to show them some physical abuse... with a shovel.

Make your configs read only, unbind all wont actually harm you then :)
