Well, I thought their Condition Zero models look GREAT, it's better having something new than the some same old crap, and even if CZ was changed completely, that wouldn't make it a whole new game, you say it needs to have connections to the original cs or it'll just have Counter-Strike on the box. The game IS counter-strike, played like counter-strike, like counter-strike; or else what's the point of having a new CS when it's just the same, and this feature can be added to a normal patch.

I remember all those information that we were given about the game...
Those different combinations of camouflage and uniforms we were suppose to get...
Those new models/weapons we were suppose to get... (ok, 1.6 gave us new weapons and I know they scrapped the two new grenades a long time ago, but they talked about the m60 before, did'nt they? What about the fifth player model?)
and then, all those delays, change of developers...
I still remember the day I read from a magazine that CS:CZ was in development and I told my best friend about it and we were so looking forward to it. Every time we play CS, we talk about the latest news for CS:CZ.
Now, my friend doesn't play CS anymore, he probably forgot about CS:CZ already. Until the preview, I still hoped that eventually CS:CZ will come out and it will be a game that corresponds at least partially corresponds to what we've been told all this time. I mean, at least they will give us the fifth player model, right?
Apparently not.
It's been so long, but I still give a shit. That's why I'm disappointed.Comment

It's amazing how much I’m pissed off about CZ dropping the new models. If they had combined both aspects of the Devs games they would have had a winner. A single player mode across the globe, a skill testing scenario for practice with bot play (the get 3 headshots to win crap) and we'd get all the ritual maps and originals for online play. Instead they scrap the single player globe thing AND the new models. gg. Now we have original cs with bot play on retextured maps. Why oh why didn't someone hack the ritual computers and steal those brilliant models before some chump decided to scrap them. >: (Comment

I guess they gonna change the box cover since Ritual's models are all over it, but come on, their models were great, the camouflage costumes and the new weapons and equipment; LAW Rocket Launcher, M60 Machine Gun, Molotov Cocktail, Smoke Grenade (can kills you), Gas Mask. Now they're deleting all their work, that's messed up of Valve. Everyone was looking forward with Ritual's work, now it's gone....all gone...GONE I tell you, YOU MANIACS, GOD DAMN YOU'S.Comment

I was never too interested in this whole thing, but does anybody have any info 1) if we'll be able to D/L the new maps (other stuff too?) and use them in regular CS and 2) will Condition Zero MP servers show up as 1.6 servers and the other way around - ie. will the only differences be the maps? With CS on HL2 coming out too (?), the situation can get a bit confusing. :\Comment

I talked to cliffe about the models. He said that the player models just wouldn't work: The animations were poorly done and would often do very weird things. Ritual was either unwilling or unable to fix it.
In my opinion, the weapon models looked worse so I really don't miss them.
I know that, in the end, it's what the consumer wants is what they should get, but unfortunately technical problems really stopped this from happening. It's really no big loss to me because they very much got the gameplay right, in my opinion.Comment

I was never interested in CZ either. I had a mild curiosity with it but thats it. A single player version of one of the best multiplayer games of all times just didn't sound appealing to me, and still doesn't really. If I want to play a good single player game I'll play GTA Vice City. It costed about $40 when I got it and I know damn well its better than CZ could ever dream of being.Comment

I never knew that, rizzuh, if only I've heard from you earlier..., well god dammit they should keep their models and fix it themselves and another thing is they had to also get rid of their single player "STORY" mode too with the globe thing: http://www.ritual.com/cz
They should kept that idea at least, who gives a crap about getting 3 headshots with this and that and fuck a llama with this and that, i want to go on a mission and do whatever I want, shoot however I want, it's OUR WAY !
^okay I read another one of "rizzuh"'s comments from the last post and he says the ritual story mode was boring and not fun at all. So the only thing they should actually keep from Ritual is the models and weapons and then Valve can fix it themselves and that way CZ will be Great again.Comment

There are still "story driven missions" in CS:CZ, they took the top 12 missions ritual made and included them. You're really getting the best of both worlds here. I don't see why some people are so against the new turn in game play. You like counter-strike don't you? Chances are the ritual version was nothing like CS, but rather just some generic cliche first person shooter on an archaic engine. If you want that there are plenty of games coming out much better suited, Max Payne 2 comes to mind. But if you want counter-strike, well with any luck they managed to capture the CS theme in SP, which is what they originally set out to do.Comment

In my oppinion, theres just not enough stuff in CS:CZ to make me buy, it just looks like a bunch of original CS maps, with a few new ones, except instead of fighting against real people you fight against bots. Nor did I notice anything cool you would be able to do in missions, all I noticed is that your objectives were to kill a certain amount of bots with a certain gun, which by all means sounded boring.
Also Max Payne 2 will kick ass, new graphics and physics engine, and I'm betting the story will be equally as good as the last one.Comment

Condition Zero needs more features, and will the grahpics and effects still be avalible?, like tumbling down the stairs and falling off buildings, and being able to drag dead bodies?.
And will someone please answer my question, Counter-Strike2 is just another way of saying counter-strike:condition zero right?, it's not a seperate game now, is it ?Comment

This is a very touchy subject for most in the gaming community now. I know that there isn't one of my friends that agrees with another about how this whole situation at valve will affect the flow of things to come.
Everyone I talk to about Condition Zero, that has read the news about it, seems to agree that CZ is definately an achievement and I don't know anyone over here that doesn't already play to rip it off the shelf when it comes in.
Personally, however, I was actually expecting much more from the mighty Valve. In all honesty, if I want to get patted on the back for getting three headshots with a desert eagle without dying, I'll just ask my younger, nerdy friends over to watch me play. I love competition and teamplay. Knowing my skill and playing with other people is what I think has always put CS apart from other games. There are plenty of other multiplayer FPS games out there besides counter-strike, but certainly none of them capture the immense range of skill levels that are available in CS and after reading every news thread and information bit I could find about CS:CZ I don't see that Valve plans to do anything at all for multiplayer. In fact, I do believe that I read somethere that CZ will be completely compatible with the original CS. So then why would I want to buy it at all?
*ahem* Anyway, I just think they need to have a dynamic skills system, or programmable C4, more weapons or SOMETHING new for those of us who have been playing long enough to remember how much fun it was to mow down noobs with a glitchy apc.alvinliu wrote..
As far as I know CS2 and CS:CZ are one in the same.
