yeah so they stole the code to HELP valve make the game BETTER
5) perhaps now they'll receive voluntary fixes and even improvements to the code
I'd say that Valve needs to release HL2 as soon as possible to get things rolling in the right direction.
nice logic there buddyComment

it only really takes about a couple days to get used to the engine and write a cheat if your good at it, so whats the point of pulling it back for that purpose? i dont think that was the reason, and as for multiplayer, we have cheats out now and multiplayer is still active..we'll just have to rely on united admins or cheating-death, or a possible valve anti-cheat for halflife2? my guess is they were planning on a december release date before this leak got outappended @ [time="1065316794"]
and on another note, friends is down, yipee :)Comment

All I can say is that a Christmas release date is probably best, but the sooner the better b4 an influx of hacks and cheats come in. I agree with G0tham that "server admin-driven banning" is the best anti-cheat should things turn out for the worse. And also, from my 2 years of Half-Life gameplaying I learned that server administration like Adminmod has proved to be a great addition to the game.
Plus, it gets more people playing b/c they "wanna be admin piz". :)
All in all, it's still months before the release and a lot can happen involving protecting source code and stuff.Comment

the whole source leaking is indirectly related to CS because CS2 was suppose to be on the source engine
I find it funny how I think 4 or 5 months ago Rizzuh said "this is NOT a Half Life fan site, this is a COUNTER-STRIKE fan site"........
- More so, its really directly related CS newsComment
