The British are the last people who should be even mentioning the word imperialism. britain has this horrible little problem with admitting when they're beat (the crusades). speaking of which the crusades was another imperialistic venture of yours, and all your history books say you won that war. Well if that were true wouldn't the middle east be christian? [yeah, thought so] and as a matter of fact I've been studying in America for the past two years and this is a great place to be, the people are friendly (unlike arrogant brits). and by the way the irish "blow up" other Irish because of Religion, much like the crusades and countless other wars,skirmishes, etcetera. Also not everyone in Ireland is Irish, many of the people killed are Brits. so if you really want to stop terrorism in Ireland then GET THE FUCK OUT!

Well... catholics should follow the pope. pope (that divine figure who is supposed to be the guidance for catholics) says dont blow people up. and yet...

Anyway thats the catholic side. This differs from the crusades in that the crusades were perpatrated by a few high up people who used religion as a tool to exercise their agenda. wait.. it doesnt really differ cus youre blowing people up for no reason in the name of "religion" that pretty much forbids killing.

This brings into the spotlight the issue of change in attitude towards religion over time; previously people would follow the religious leaders blindly. now people follow themselves blindly and call it religion. Hence the protestant/catholic war. which goes against both protestand AND catholic teachings.



+ theres all the whole "thou shalt not kill" stigma thing from little things like the bible and priests and common sense. ESPECIALLY over something as petty as someone having a different religion.

That admiration was probably earned cus a lot of americans funded the IRA for at least a few years. (and no I dont think they bothered finding out that they were blowing up everything) Fair enough they may have won the war. But who knows; i havent really done enough research into the subject. and i'll admit britain is a bastard. (but you keep ignoring the fact that i've said that, and assume that I think britain is the best; I dont, im a bitter person when it comes to governments)

If you're a TRUE follower, FORGIVE them. like the teachings say. or try and convert them, something nice and civilised like that. be like ghandi rather than hitler; it'd makes your case seem a whole lot more plausible if youre putting it forward in the name of religion. I'll put this to you; if all your friends were ehh (whats the religion of the IRA, i barely know cus both sides have commited so many atrocities its hard to distinguish; oh well, not my fault you've completely shed the whole religion beliefs, it makes it hard to tell which religion youre from) anyway. if all your friends were, lets say.. protestant (think im right..), would you still blow them up?



How about if 1 of your friends (p or c) had a bunch of protestant friends; would you go kill them too? maybe the next step away from you is where you stop giving a fuck about who you kill, maybe the one after that.



And when that one other religion is gone, are you going to decide that you dont like a few more? and go and kill all the sikhs in ireland? and all the jews? and all the atheists?



Also, is it easier to get to northern ireland by:

a) car

b) ferry/plane.

Actually, I believe that the Irish are just trying to kick out totalitarianist assholes who believed it was their mission to take over the whole world. There used to be a phrase that went, "The sun never sets on the British EMPIRE." If anyone schooled Americans on being imperialistic it was the British - so thank you very fucking much!

just so you can better understand where I come from, and not my organization, i tell you why i joined. when i was eleven living outside Dublin, one of my best friends was killed in the fighting, thats when i decided i was going to join. one might say "so why do you continue the fighting? Why dont you try to stop it?" if you've ever been to ireland you would know that there is no way to stop the fighting here, we no longer fight because of religion or nationality, its all old grudges. we fight not for one belief or the other, we fight because thats what were used to doing. if youve been doing something for long enough you just cant stop doing it. I realized this when i came to America to study. I personally hate religion, and i hate politics, so do alot of us. we all have our own reason to hate the other side, and most of the time its very trivial, but its what we do, and its what weve been doing most of our lives. ireland is known for the fighting and it always will be, nothing can change that now. but despite my personal hatred for politics I still know it was wrong for the british to come and erase an entire culture, and even in this "new age" britain has still held on to ireland. were one of the last under britain and we fight for national freedom, just like america did, and some day we will succeed, we will be free. Yet regardless of national ties i have moved to the U.S. and i plan to stay here for a while. i can never forgive the british for what they did to my people, and i can never forgive those who kill my friends just because of their parents religion. all religion is pointless, Lenin once said "Religion is the opiate of the masses" and i whole heartedly agree. to me the fight is not about modern politics, its about standing proudly on your feet without some foreign government trying to hold you down. so dont you start talking to me like everyone in the IRA shares the same beliefs because we dont. there are thousands of reasons people fight not just two. you should go out into the world and explore different cultures and different people before you judge them. i have experienced britain first hand i have come to find that british are arrogant pricks, and you sir are a shining example of that. now if your done with all of your misguided history, i remind you that this forum is about counter-strike.

ive been reading this forum for a while now and I have to say that --[I.R.A.]-- is one pissed off potato eater. MrFelix as an asshole no doubt about it. cbble has always sucked ass and it still does. yes it may be about counterstrike, but there are far more important things in life than computer games.(by the way i've already travelled around europe one and half times and spent a couple of years in the states, my mother is a historian from hong kong and my father is an australian. Dont tell me to travel and experience other cultures, I've seen a lot, and the ones that promote fighting are by far the worst; given "justified" reasons or not)

I've not displayed any self-importance at all. I've acknowledged any bad points that were truly justified. And i've pointed out that america is following hte same path as britain. its just treating everyone by the same standards. Hence I call some people terrorists who others might call freedomfighters, simply because those same people called another group of people terrorists who I'd call freedom fighters. The same actions having the same result seems to make sense. Also, as I've said before, I hate being british. This whole post feels like a repetition of things I've been saying throughout.
