If you're from the UK you can easily win any Counter-Strike debate by diverting attention to global politics and AmeriKKKa imperialism without actually backing up any claims you have to support your original argument and this is certainly NOT faulty logic or a red herring fallacy, but stands on the grounds of political superiority and enlightenment. Everyone else is just a gung-ho LETS ROLL patriotic moran.

tbh people with a shield arent that hard to kill. just wait until youve killed everyone else first and then strafe. Being from the UK has no bearing on my arguments except for maybe the fact that I speak english and happen to be alive and stuff like that. Generalisations are made simply because generalisations generally apply to most, there are exceptions but if everyone else is allowed to forget things that make their argument seem wrong, so can I



well, not to be offensive but evidence: vietnam(we dont like what you think so we'll napalm you and try our new copters out), afghanistan(we made a mistake and want to forget about it now), that other 3rd world country i forgot the name of where they bombed that embassy(does anyone really remember?), ww1; ww2; gulf war friendly fire statistics. Also, iraq weapons(given to iraq to get rid of the iranians if i remember right), taliban weapons(given to them to help them get rid of the former afghan admin.) . Then we get into all the dirty stuff after that. Need we talk about chemical weapons programs? CIA has been 'researching' all these psychotropic compounds for introduction to water supplies for years. Nuclear weapons? umm.. biological weapons. look where all that anthrax came from...so thats NBC covered. Traditional terrorism makes it a little harder to divulge the facts; due to the frame of mind that if a single westerner gets killed theyre worht more than the 10 civilian casualties that are forgotten about (and 10 is a conservative estimate) It might sound like Im all anti-american and pro third world but thats not really true; im still struggling with the concept that theres more than my little facet in this world so for all I know theyre just tools of the media; but america has a dirty past, so does iraq, and yet we decided to invade iraq based on what was it.. a 15, 25yr old PhD thesis that was just guesswork then; without any indication of N B OR C weapons, and without giving the weapons inspectors any chance to look (and for me thats when I decided that the whole idea was bush being bush sr.). So lets carpet bomb america because they had some nuclear material a while back and because they want more nuclear material now, and because they dont want to give out every secret they have. But then if america was destroyed, israel would attack us with (what a suprise) american arms and gestapo mentality :P Oh yeah and an american govt. wait.. nvm.. and the nukes. but we'll ignore those cus of the paper trail.



Incidentally I'd call it political inferiority; I believe everyone should be subject to the same effect for the same cause. At the end of the day, there is no good and evil, just different courses in life that are affected by the choices we as a global community make; and if we choose to "exploit market opportunities to sieze profitibility"; there are repercussions, however you want to word the cause or the effect; be it slave trade and revolution or relocation strategies and terrorism.

I've only had a chance to play a few scrims on 1.6 and so far the shield doesn't seem to be a severe problem in match play, almost everyone opts for a rifle over a shield, and with good reason. What good is staying alive if you can't really shoot at someone? The problem is on pubs and dealing with groups of shielders. It's more annoying than anything and I wish the shield wasn't so attractive on pubs. It could just be because it's new and everyone is trying it out.

I'm just trying to figure out why the VIP can still get a shield on an AS map. They already had 200 armor. Now they get 200 armor, a pistol, and 120 degrees of godmode.

You're right MrFelix - the Brits didn't get "beaten", they left because of an impending war with France for which George decided he needed those troops and ships back. Except you are wrong about WW1 & 2 - if America had not entered the wars, Britain, France and the rest of Europe would be wearing liederhausen and eating kielbasa everyday while dancing a freakin polka. The aircraft that Hitler was developing could have overwhelmed Brit radar and gotten to London with no difficulty. Without thousands of American bombers and fighters shooting everything down and blowing all kinds of shit up - all of Europe would be German. The bombing campaign cost Hitler too many resources to finish developing those aircraft and more advanced weaponry - and no I'm not talking about the new expansion pack for BF1942.



The UK and France didn't bitch when we gave them armaments, housing, rebuilt infrastructure - AND THEN CANCELLED THE DEBT. Only when they were no longer super-powers did they start to whine and go, "But I wanna be the badass too!" It goes the same on CS servers - someone is kicking ass so everyone hates them. America kicks ass so it gets hated on, even though most of us have nothing against the rest of the world. Just shut the hell up.

This is pretty much the point I was trying to make about the UK and France feeling left out of the "imperialist" game.



I've been to England - I lived there for 6 months. I was extremely underimpressed with everything considering the anti-American arrogance that I experienced. I got a lot of comments which were really stupid and irrelevant like, "Our unit of currency is worth more than the dollar." My response often involved having to live on a tiny, sooty island with a bunch of arrogant pricks, where it rains 50% of the time and all the chicks have nasty teeth - all made the dollar worth a HELL of a lot more.



The UK has a serious superiority complex even though it's world power status is in the shitter. Many countries think the US has a superiority complex - our attitude comes from us just doing things better and smarter than the other guy - we're not arrogant, just confident. I'm done with you - think whatever the hell you want.

And I never said Britain was a good example of how to run a society did I? Britain fscks over nearly as many people as america. The Irish, however, are pillars of the world community; they just kill each other. (well; the northern irish, but they seem pretty irish in terms of everything but the name; and no I dont really know anything about that whole situation; just drawing impressions from all those people with irish accents talking about other people with irish accents blowing up other people with irish accents; all of whom live on a little island which has ireland and northern ireland on it. Correct me if I'm wrong but wasnt D-Day just picking up the pieces after a series of HUGE mistakes that shouldnt really have happened anyway? So if the americans were there I guess they made a mistake too. Also; I think the reason britain started winning was because of hitlers decision to attack civilian targets rather than military. (oh yeah i wonder what the friendly fire statistics were in D-day; with that huge amount of american soldiers :P)

yeah I remember that a bunch of british people complained because they had to move their children a few hundred miles and because they couldnt get any bananas or chocolate. Excuse me for saying so; but britain hardly suffered at all during the wars in comparison to the japanese or chinese, for example. or the germans. or russia? I mean.. britain is this pathetic little island with little strategic value, who actually cares about it? Incidentally, I'd have thought if the "british [were] gettin the shit beat out of them" so badly, maybe there would have been a german foot on british soil, seeing as theres all of northern england too(where planes didnt go..), not just southern. But to my knowledge that didnt happen; suggesting that well.. britain wasnt really that close to being invaded as you suggest. Theres a huge difference between blowing up some buildings and occupying all the other ones.
