i have win2000, and my fps has been seemingly locked at 60, even though i set fps_max 100. I heard it was something to do with xp and 2000 that caused this. Whatever it is, please help! i have gf3 and want to play at 100

mine was loked @ 60 also. u have to disable vsinc in ur card's properties. email me if you need help.

Those who are locked at 60fps/60MhZ refresh need to find the Refresh Rate fix for WinXP/Win2000. Use the almighty Google.

If you're feeling a bit more adventurous, you can also lock your refresh rate permanently by using dxdiag -- its effects are driver-independant, but be for gosh-darn sure that your monitor supports that refresh rate in all resolutions you plan to use.

If by "adventurous" you mean "willing to damage your hardware" then no, I'm not feeling adventurous. Anyway, I got the drivers and that refresh rate fix. It turns out 1280x1024x32 @ 60Hz is all I can get. Oh well...

I had that too. Try turning vsync off. If that doesn't work install older drivers.

I remember watching Element during the CPL, this kid is amazing. Anyway the movie is done very well, some of the frags are unbelievable, and the intro is kinda cool. If you like CS movies this is a must see.
