    Cliffe interview

This has to be the greatest post of all time, bar none. Cliffe has been interviewed by those anal avengers over at FlipSide. Here's something to hold you over:
hook: Is it true that gooseman is importing drawstrings into Counter-Strike?

Cliffe: Yes, the new k9 units will wear drawstring pants ---- ONLY from the gap.

Everyone's favorite raunchy slab of meat, cliffe, got interviewed by those crazy Germans over at counter-strike.de. Get a load of this:
-[DNC]RageWarrior-How do you spend your freetime?

        -[Cliffe]-Hanging out with Little Rizzuh.

        -[DNC]RageWarrior-He he, who is that?

-[Cliffe]-Rze, from CSnation. The beefiest hunk in the land.

            Cliffe interview

EFront's Beta News has posted an interview with cliffe. Not much new information, except some details on the smoke grenades.
BN: How long does the smoke effect last?

Pretty long -- about 10 seconds or so. Perhaps a tad longer (I've never

            counted).

              Cliffe interview

Computer and Video Games has conducted an incisive interview with Valve's Jess Cliffe. In it holds some basic questions concerning the soon to be released Condition Zero. The short, yet sweet, interview contains questions like the following:
Condition Zero has passed through the hands of a number of development studios, suggesting that game is made up of the best ideas from each - is this a fair assumption to make?

Cliffe: When developing a new game, we tend to iterate until we have something interesting and a lot of fun. For Condition Zero, we had the luxury of working with a lot of talented people (Turtle Rock Studios, Ritual, etc.). The most important part is that, at the end of the development cycle, we have a product we're proud to offer to gamers.
In addition with the interview, there are even some screenshots to be glanced at as well. For those interested in gathering any additional information on CZ, this interview should be of interest.

The length of this interview says it all really. Had this been a game they had been happy with you wouldnt of been able to get them to shut up. As it is we heard old answers to old questions...a bit about how Valve love to update their games in response to a question obviously tilted towards getting a bit of a 'nudge nudge wink wink' on CS2, and some PR Bullshit about how great it was to work with so many different developers on the game. Finally a no response to a perfectly valid question about what Valve wasnt happy with on the Ritual game...

I dont know ... CZ will sell averagely...it wont be a disaster because of the CS brandname, and the fact that Valve probably did not incur a huge cost in making it due to the old tech and outsourcing of development. However...it wont make them as much profit as the original CS Retail did and that package was even more of a joke, but at least it was add-on priced

How come the gaming press is so in the hand of the game producing companies? Our national press doesnt exactly always eat out of the governments hand....

I cant believe they are keeping the same skins. How ridiculously lazy and stupid. The game has been in development for years and this is what they have to show. This is easily the biggest disappointment in video game history.

                          how can it beat daikatana?

this was never going to be cs2... wasn't the whole excitment for CZ to create a single player CS? they did that (twice in one package), now people are pissed because it wasn't some huge multiplayer update? in the 3-4 years development on CZ you've receieved a steady stream of updates to CS multiplayer..... free...?

Hear hear, peagle. Not trying to flame anyone in particular, but I'm really sick of hearing complaints about CZ. Sure, the delays have been ridiculous. But the game is what it is; a single-player Counter-Strike experience. It's not for everyone. If $40 is too much, just don't buy it. It's not gonna break any sales records, but a lot of devoted fans are going to buy it. Personally I'll get it as a way to thank Valve for years of free support for a game that I've played the hell out of and enjoyed for a long time. Rant over.

Oh yeah, the interview was pretty vanilla, but I didn't expect anything more than that.

well, its basically multiplayer with bots on lan with the addition of some lame objectives.

Originally it was going to be actual missions on new maps and new scenario's. That with the new models and new maps would have made it worth it. Now its just reskined maps, no new models, no new missions, and bots.

There is a lot of better stuff out there that is done by people for free. Free bots, free skins(not that I use them but still), free custom maps(some are excelent just not played much).
