  • Movie Adaptation of We Happy Few Announced

We Happy Few, a survival game set in an alternate 1960s English town where the Allies lost World War II, will be made into a feature film. In the game, the government issues drugs that result in all of the residents being happy and believing they're living in this great utopia. You, the player, breaks free of the drugs and sees the world for what it really is: Quite horrible. The game is still currently in Early Access on Steam but that's not stopping this film from being made by Gold Circle Films and dj2 Entertainment.
WHF is being produced by Paul Brooks' Gold Circle Films and dj2 Entertainment's Dmitri M. Johnson and Dan Jevons, with dj2's Stephan Bugaj executive producing.

dj2 saw the video game before its release to fan and critical acclaim, and was immediately drawn to its unique world, aesthetic and characters. Guillaume Provost, head of the game's developer, Compulsion Games, says, "Dmitri, Stephan and Dan approached us enthusiastically and with really solid ideas about how to adapt our game to film, while retaining its menace, dark humor, and central themes. We're gratified at how they and Gold Circle have taken to the project."
