Yesterday, DICE revealed the playable factions that will ship with Battlefield 1 later this year.
These factions include: British, German, Austro-Hungarian, Italian, Ottoman, and American.
Oddly, the French and Russians were not included. It's actually quite baffling that the French won't be included given their significant role in WWI, but DICE has an answer for that: DLC.
Yes, the French will be added later on according to French publication, Lemonde. Still though, given that there are maps that take place within France, it seems like an odd choice to omit them at launch.
There is no word on whether or not the Russians will receive the same treatment with post-launch DLC. If they are, then it could mean the potential for Eastern Front battles.
