The Halo 5 sandbox known as the Forge is coming for free to a Windows 10 system near you. Yes, this is a standalone sandbox application for Windows 10 and does not include Halo 5 proper.
Forge is kind of like Creative mode in Minecraft. You will be able to place objects and items in an environment. You can make Rube Goldberg type machines, game modes, minigames, art, or whatever you want really. Those on Windows 10 will have the benefit of using a mouse and keyboard to move and place objects. And while you somewhat play these creations in Windows 10, those on the Xbox One will benefit the most.
Maybe this will open the doors for a proper release of the Halo franchise for modern PCs. Maybe. We'll just have to wait and see.
