Yesterday, Valve opened up the sale of tickets for The International 5 Dota 2 Championship at two separate times. The first was at 10AM PST and the second time was at 10PM PST.
The $99 tickets sold out in just 10 minutes combined between the two sale periods. In the first batch, tickets were sold out in just 6 minutes. For the second batch, the tickets were gone in just 4 minutes.
Last year, teams battled for a chance at the massive prize pool that surpassed $10 million (USD). I get the feeling that this year's event will be just as big, if not bigger.
