343 Industries just announced their plans to try to make amends for the terrible launch of Halo: The Master Chief Collection on Xbox One. They first offer a thank you to the fans for putting up with the issues and for sticking with the game and the company even through its faults.
They also wanted to let the community know about some of the free content that is coming to those who played the game prior to December 19th.
In addition to that, they've detailed some future freebies that are coming. These include more Halo 2: Anniversary multiplayer maps and maps from Halo 3: ODST. But wait, it gets better.

Halo 3: ODST Campaign - Development has just started on the campaign for Halo 3: ODST, which will be available within Halo: The Master Chief Collection, and upgraded to 1080p resolution, running at 60fps. It will be available for free to anyone who has played Halo: The Master Chief Collection since launch (11.11.14) through today (12.19.14).* Thanks to our friends at Bungie for creating the original “Halo 3: ODST” campaign.
