Microsoft Now Owns Xbone.com as Major Nelson Calls Nickname 'Disrespectful'

The nickname that most of the gaming world has bestowed upon the Xbox One is one that some at Microsoft don't care too much for. However, that didn't stop the company from buying the Xbone.com domain and having it point to a Bing search for "Xbone."

One of those upset with the nickname is Xbox Live's Major Nelson, who calls the name "disrespectful."
"I don't like it...it disrespects the teams that have put in thousands of hours (already) into the development of the product. Sure, it's cheeky but I don't care for it myself."

Disrespectful? Maybe, to some. To others, it's a hell of a lot easier to write out. See, most people don't like to write out full words or the full names of things, especially when there is no need to. PlayStation 4 is PS4. The Xbox 360 is often shown as the 360. So how is calling the Xbox One the "Xbone" a sign of disrespect in the slightest.

A sign of being lazy, yes, but not automatically a sign of disrespect.

Im sorry, but if Microsoft marketing were stupid enough not to notice how the spellings were, then they desrver the XBoner.

Someone needs to grab that name.

Couldn't they have added a simple "dash" between XB and One? Idiots.
