Microsoft Promises Another Three Years of Xbox 360 Support

Microsoft's Yusuf Mehdi said that the company plans to keep the Xbox 360 alive for another three years.
"You've seen us over the years constantly be focused on profitability and improving year over year," he said. "There are different points in the cycle of when you invest in new hardware.

"If you look at 360 that platform lasted for seven to eight years and it's going to go for another three years. It's incredibly profitable now in the tail.

"Some of these things take some time in the launch year in which you invest, and then they they play out over time."

I really wonder what the company plans to do over the next three years. Does this mean that a few games here and there will be released for the platform still? Say FIFA 17 coming out on the Xbox 360 still just as FIFA 14 is still being released on the PlayStation 2? It's true, look it up.

Or will it mean more substantial titles seeing the light of day on the 360, like new Halo releases, or other blockbuster titles three years down the line?

Mine is going to last until I can trade it in toward a PS4.
