When WWE 2K14 is released on October 29, fans should be ready to celebrate 30 years of WrestleMania with the all-new "30 Years of WrestleMania Mode."
This separate mode will "organize matches into a progressive single-player campaign." It will include unique presentation elements from the various eras of WrestleMania including authentically recreated arenas, entrances for the wreslters, attire, and "era-specific graphics, screen filters and other presentation elements." There will also be historical objectives that players can attempt in order to replicate highlights from the various matches. Successfully doing this will unlock various rewards including additional playable wrestlers, alternate attire, new arenas, and archive photos.
You can find out more when 2K presents the roster reveal for this game mode on August 17 at 12:30PM (PDT). That will air on 2K's Twitch channel.
You know what? I haven't played a wrestling game in years. I haven't watched wrestling on TV in even longer. But the fact that this mode is included has really spiked my interest in checking this game out.
Commencing with the inaugural WrestleMania, the nostalgic journey takes players through more than 45 matches, including the legendary match between Hulk Hogan vs. Andre the Giant for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 3; WWE 2K14 cover Superstar Dwayne "The Rock®" Johnson vs. "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan in an "Icon vs. Icon" match at WrestleMania 18; and the much-anticipated WrestleMania 28 main event featuring The Rock vs. John Cena®. The 30 Years of WrestleMania Mode is inspired by the forthcoming WWE milestone - WrestleMania 30, scheduled for Sunday, April 6, 2014 at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans.
