Hi-Rez Closing Official Forums and Moving to Reddit - Reddit Mods Are Not Happy

A few hours ago, Hi-Rez announced that they will be closing their official forums. Why? Well, it seems as though they have "noticed an increasing trend in our players and many other online gaming communities" of moving to other social media platforms for discussion. You know, places like Twitter, Facebook, and Reddit.

As such, they decided to close their official forums and let their fans sort of fend for themselves by going to any number of these social media areas to discuss the game or even to seek help. The problem is that they never really talked about this decision with the current mods of the main Tribes sub-Reddit.

Needless to say, the mods who run the Tribes sub-Reddit are less than enthused about this relatively unannounced move by Hi-Rez.
To echo dodgepong, it's not really fair on us to just say "Well, we don't want to keep the forums going anymore so /r/tribes can handle it!" - you didn't even talk to us about it despite the fact that you can contact us on reddit, mumble, Skype, irc & email.

There's no point in creating extra subreddits because they won't be frequented, there's no point in just allowing tech support posts because they become impossible to find and we can only have one post "stickied" to the top at any one time. Forums are ideal because of their very nature - Reddit is just not a good format for this sort of thing.

Hopefully you won't need quick access to user support or guides or ongoing conversations because with this lack of a centralized location, it's going to be a crapshoot for fans of Hi-Rez's games.

I've been on Reddit a few times, i have absolutely no idea how it works, it seems like a disorganized mess.

People say it's great, it just confounds me.

Ugh... don't centralise reddit. I'm a frequent redditor but I have a love/hate relationship with it. Don't give the neckbeards the satisfaction of making the hivemind bigger...

in more serious perspectives I think this violates a few things regarding the anti-corporate-sponsorship rules that the /r/Conspiracy shits jack off over.

yeah... I'm going through a rough time and am constantly angry right now...
