
On the software side of things, only 1.3 million units were sold. In the three months prior, the company sold 390,000 Wii U consoles and 13.42 million games.
Financially speaking, sales for the company were up 3.8% ($832.6 million) compared to the same period last year. They also earned a net profit of $88 million compared to a loss for the same period last year.
Operating losses of $50.2 million were due to R&D for the Wii U. In the same span of time, the Nintendo 3DS sold 1.4 million units and 11 million software units sold.
To put things into perspective for how bad the Wii U did during that span of time, the original Wii sold 210,000 units with 3.67 million games sold.
