Of All the Odd Ideas: A Gran Turismo Movie has been Confirmed

Defying all logic, it was revealed earlier today by Sony that a Gran Turismo movie is actually going to be made.

Let. That. Sink. In.

Beyond merely saying that the film is "being made" by a Sony representative, not much else was said about the movie. Oh wait, yes there was! It is being worked on by Michael de Luca and Dana Brunetti! These two previously worked on The Social Network and (wait for it) Fifty Shades of Grey.

This is going to be the most bizarre film ever.

Some NFS games actually have a story though. Like, one with an actual plot beyond simply driving/racing. It's not much but it's still more than what Gran Turismo ever had.

If it takes the ethos of games seriously then it has the potential to have the best footage of cars racing in a movie ever, it's also possible for the characters to hold the cars themselves in such high regard that they themselves become characters, other than that this is super crazy.
