Download Battlefield 3: Close Quarters DLC for Free Until June 19

Don't yet have the Close Quarters expansion for Battlefield 3 for whatever bizarre reason? Well you can not get it for free. Yes, FREE!

How do you get it? Open up Origin on your PC (or in-game store on consoles), select "Redeem Code" and then enter code: BF3E3

This will give you Close Quarters for no additional cost.

You have until June 18 to get Close Quarters for free, so you should probably just go take care of that now while its fresh in your mind.

In addition to this, there will be an exclusive double XP event for Premium members that starts any minute now and runs for 144 hours. Just play on any ranked server for some sweet double XP. Premium members also get a special Tombstone Squad dog tag. If you're Premium, you already have it.

Free stuff from EA with no hidden reason is always a good although rare thing, so I'm jumping on it even if I'll never use it again.

Seeing as I hate vehicular combat, I got on this and played all of 5 minutes.

5 minutes? Thats not too bad.

I dont HATE the maps, I just HATE scrap metal. The other ones if you take your time and have your kit right, they are kinda fun. The thing is though you would be better off playing TDM on all the maps than everything in Close Quarter.

That's just my opinion. I know some people that love CQ the most. To each their own.

Scrap Metal is the only one I like.

Actually, I don't really like any of them. It's more the one I don't hate.

CQ is best left to Counter Strike. So I left for Counter Strike. :)

Close Quarters is the one I like the less. My low framerate makes playing those maps extremely frustrating, because people suddenly pop out of corners and I constantly loose these face offs. I personaly also hate scrap metal because the map is so unbalanced. When I play there the team that manages to camp the best on that top balcony always wins, all you have to do is have a good sniper, a guy constantly planting claymores around and an assault, and bam it's nearly impossible to get inside there

I actually played more of close quarters than any other map pack.

I think I have too. Though it might be kind of tied with Armored Kill only because of the larger maps (and sure as hell isn't because of the crappy Tank Superiority mode). I'm not counting Back to Karkand in this either since I'm only talking about "new" maps/expansion here.

Aftermath was good and End Game was good but End Game came so far into the life of the game that the desire to play as much as I used to in the early days just isn't there. I'll still play once in a while but nothing like I used to.
