Robert Bowling Detained by LAPD After Silent Alarm was Triggered at Robotoki's Offices

Robert Bowling (better known as fourzerotwo), the President of Robotoki and former Community Manager for Infinity Ward came face to face with armed officers of the LAPD this past Friday.

It turns out that a silent alarm for a new alarm system at the Robotoki offices was unknowingly triggered by two employees. The police arrived on the scene and saw what appeared to be a man wearing a ski mask and heavily armed standing next to a window. The LAPD detained Bowling while they confirmed his identity.

The gunman in question? A life-sized statue of "Ghost" from the Call of Duty series. The officers never suspected that the statue was real, it just happened to be a very bizarre coincidence. The trigger for the silent alarm has been moved and the statue will be moved away from the window, just in case.

On the lighter side of this, this story caused Robert Bowling and Josh Olin to get into a brief spat on Twitter a short time ago. Josh Olin is perhaps better known by his online handle of jd_2020 and the former Community Manager for Treyarch. Olin made a bit of an off the cuff remark on Twitter that, while not specified, certainly seems to be about this incident.

That was, of course, met with a couple of quick responses from Bowling.

Yes, the two former Community Managers of the two studios that alternate development years on the Call of Duty series, just got into a little spat on Twitter. I love social media.

I could almost imagine 2020's comment as playful sarcasm, not an actual serious comment like 402 took it. Then again, it could just as easily have been serious.

Put them both together and you still add up to practically zero useful communication with the community.
