Wired managed to get exclusive first shots of the Xbox One hardware, including the console, Kinect bar, and the controller.
The controller features a more seamless design, improved D-pad, heptic feedback triggers, and will still accept AA batteries (possibly four of them compared to two for the 360 controller). It also features a new connector that will accept 5.1 headsets without amplifiers. This also means the old accessories won't work.
The Kinect sensor includes a multi-mic array below the larger body above that holds the camera technology.
The Xbox One console itself includes a 50/50 split between a glossy panel and a matte vented panel. The Blu-ray drive looks like a slot loader similar to the PlayStation 3. The ports on the back of the One include an HDMI In, HDMI Out, two USB 3.0 ports (one more is on the side), Kinect connector, power port, optical in for audio, and an Ethernet port.
It's a rectangle, the likes of which the world has not seen since the heyday of the VCR.
