Metal Gear Solid Legacy Collection Spotted on Korean Ratings Board

Last night, I saw that Hideo Kojima tweeted the following image.

I naturally didn't think anything of it other than it looked cool, whatever it was. Today, NeoGAF noticed that a posting for a Metal Gear Solid: The Legacy Collection was added to a website for a Korean game ratings board.

The listing has it marked down for the PlayStation 3 only and could very well tie in with the image tweeted by Kojima. That certainly seems to indicate some sort of a bundle that includes Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear Solid 2, Metal Gear Solid 3, Metal Gear Solid 4, and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker.

There is obviously no confirmation about this yet, nor any word about Xbox 360 or PC versions, or if the Legacy Collection will include any improvements at all over their original releases.

It's probably just the HD collection + 4 for Korea, like how the Hitman HD Collection was 2, 3 and Blood Money, which is already HD.

Edit: Just noticed mgs1 in there, having an updated version of that floating around would be nice.

I wouldn't mind having them all on one system.

I have MGS1/2/3 for the PS1/2. I have MGS1 Twin Snakes for the GameCube. I have HD collection (2,3,PW) for the Xbox 360. I had Portable Ops for the PSP when I had access to a PSP. I have MGS4 for the PS3 (but no PS3 to play it on at present).

Could this mean Metal Gear Solid (PS1) to PS3? I don't think so. It would have to include trophies and HD resolution. Not a single PS1 game has been given that kind of treatment yet.

But of course I hope that maybe one day we will see the best PS1 titles remastered!

MGS1 was already given a facelift with Twin Snakes, which uses Metal Gear Solid 2's engine. If they do what they did with the HD collection to MGS1/Twin Snakes, all they would need to do are add a handful of Trophies, support widescreen, and up the texture resolution a bit.

That is exactly what they did with the HD collection and the version of MGS2/3 that are included with that.

Yes, Twin Snakes is nice but it's technically not a remaster, it's more like a remake of the PS1 game. Twin Snakes has stuff in there that wasn't in the original game.

When talking about the HD Collections (Hitman, MGS, Ratchet & Clank, Jak & Daxter) they have all been remasters - just trophy support and HD resolution, but the gameplay has been identical to the original. So in that sense I don't think MGS1 will be remastered. Probably it's gonna be Twin Snakes as mentioned, which is a remake.
