OUYA Beat Out by 77 Other Android Devices According to Futuremark

OUYA, the Android based home console, has been shipping out to early Kickstarter backers already. Though early reviews have been relatively underwhelming, it might be alright if the hardware is future proof, right? Well, there's a problem with that.

According to tests conducted on a variety of smart phones, tablets, and the OUYA console itself using Futuremark benchmarking tools, the OUYA is a huge under-performer.

The OUYA was listed at number 78 out of the 258 devices tested. It falls well short of the marks achieved by newer smart phones such as the HTC One, LG NExus 4, both the Galaxy S3 and S4 variants, and plenth others. Keep in mind, however, that the OUYA is just $99 while many of these phones go for many times that price.

Are we expecting indie games and ios style apps to require alot of grunt in the future?
I figure if a developer wants to move on to make larger more expensive games they'd go to PC or consoles.

I agree. The Ouya specs have bean out for a long time. No one should be surprised. It`s not the Future Mark score that is important here. It`s the openness of the system and the software that makes Ouya important.
Next years model should come with a Tegra 4.
P.S. I didn`t buy one.
