Trendy Entertainment has announced today that Dungeon Defenders 2 is in development. Not only that, but they will have a playable demo available at PAX East and are already accepting signups for a chance to get into the upcoming beta.
One of the new features to hit Dungeon Defenders 2 is a MOBA style competitive mode. Perhaps most interesting here is the fact that Dungeon Defenders 2 will be free to play.
Dungeon Defenders 2 will be playable at PAX East 2013. Those who check out the game at booth #968 will get a look at both the cooperative and competitive modes and get an exclusive in-game item once it goes live. If you still have questions, either hit up this rather handy FAQ or wait for more media to be released on March 22.

And yes, by that we mean free-to-play. No, it will not be pay to win. The exact details are in flux, but we’ll have several opportunities for you to provide feedback both in and outside the beta. Our goal is to provide the same amount of content at around the same price as the original game.
There’s some other things like playverse, cross-platform play and all that jazz. We’ll be giving more information on those soon. Dungeon Defenders II is currently being developed for PC, Mac, iOS, Android and Web.
