Probably the most under-rated game of 2012 is getting a sequel in 2014 for current and next-generation platforms. Sniper Elite 3 has been officially announced today by 505 Games, the publisher for the console version of Sniper Elite V2.
505 Games states that Sniper Elite V2 was a success for the company, selling about 1.1 million units between its release in April of 2012 and the end of the year. Sniper Elite 3 is slated for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and other next-gen platforms for 2014. Don't get too worked up just yet because you haven't seen a "PC" release mentioned. 505 Games only handled the console releases. The developer of the game, Rebellion, also served as the publisher for the PC release.
With the game still about a year away, there is plenty of time for more release platforms and news to be released. In the meantime, look out for my review of Sniper Elite Nazi Zombie Army coming soon*.
