Wow! The latest developer blog for the upcoming standalone release of DayZ features some terrific insight from the game's developers alongside over 20 minutes of gameplay footage. In addition, there is a good bit of feedback and discussion from various testers from Reddit.

Highlights of the video include solving of the "zig-zag" movements of the zombies that was present in the mod version, server side spawns, loot spawning inside wrecks, and much more.
