Known also as EA2D, BioWare San Francisco has reportedly been shut down and all 25-30 of its employees have been laid off. The studio is perhaps best known for developing the browser-based Mirror's Edge 2D and Dragon Age: Legends.
Given the BioWare branding back in August of 2011, the studio focused mainly on social, mobile, and web based games. Sources say that Electronic Arts found it was "too expensive" to continue mobile development in Redwood Shores.
