The cat is out of the bag now. It started with a #PlayStation2013 teaser page put up by Sony in which they promised to show off something PlayStation related on February 20, 2013 at 6PM EST.
That something, as discovered by the Wall Street Journal, is for the next PlayStation. Call it the PlayStation 4, the PlayStation Orbis, or anything else, the fact is that we will start to get some of the first facts on Sony's next-generation plans come February 20. As it stands, the next console seems to be slated for release later this year.
Sony has also released a teaser video to whet your whistle with.
The Wall Street Journal also notes that Sony is planning on adding in "more social gaming aspects into the new machine." So, I hope you like sharing your gaming accomplishments with your friends and family on Facebook, Twitter, maybe even Google+. Specs on the machine are still nothing but rumor at this point. It will reportedly include an optical drive, AMD CPUs and GPUs, and a bunch of RAM.
