Counter-Strike: Source servers will soon be updated similar to what happened with Team Fortress 2, Day of Defeat: Source, and Half-Life 2: Deathmatch last year.
Valve is readying a release, tentatively slated for next week, that will move Linux dedicated servers to using *_srv.so files. This would put the game in line with the games listed above. It may also require that server admins update their server scripts as a result.
The update will be mandatory for server owners and right now, the only changes are the ones we just mentioned. There will be additional details on what all has been changed once the update is fully ready next week.
You have been warned, server admins!
