With Oculus Rift on the horizon, it should come as no surprise that more developers are experimenting with virtual reality being added to their games. Even more, it should come as even less of a surprise that Valve is one such developer.
For the 2013 Game Developer's Conference in San Francisco, Valve is slated to give two 25-minute long lectures. The first is called "Why Virtaul Reality is Hard (And Where it Might be Going), and the second is "What We Learned Porting Team Fortress 2 to Virtual Reality".
The first will be hosted by Michael Abrash, the lead behind Valve's current in development wearable computer hardware. The second one is, obviously, going to be about how the team at Valve brought Team Fortress 2 to the world of VR as hoted by Joe Ludwig. It is being billed as a discussion of some of the issues that arose when porting over the game to VR.
The description continues on to say that a "game designed for VR could avoid many of the issues that came up with Team Fortress 2." The 2013 GDC is slated for March 25-29.
