Yes, Makeb is a planet that is slated to be added into The Old Republic's known universe. Not only will players have to pony up real world currency to even access the planet and associated content, but it will apparently be the only place to get your groove on with those of the same sex.
The planet will include new companions, complete with flirtatious dialogue options. So why is this content limited to this one new area? Well, BioWare already has 40 companion characters, all of which are voice-acted and all are straight. To go back and add in new dialogue or change things up drastically would be a huge undertaking from the development team.
This new planet and romance options will be part of the upcoming paid DLC, The Rise of the Hutt Cartel. Sure, there are more features than just sexing it up with a new companion. The DLC will also include World PvP, new game content, and the ability to move your character to the Public Test Server.
There is absolutely no word on if or when those partaking of the same sex relationships will be allowed to leave Makeb in order to integrated peacefully with the rest of the known universe (and story).
