THQ Franchises to be Auctioned Off Title by Title on January 22 - EA is Potential Buyer

Well, it's now official that each THQ franchise will be auctioned off on a title by title basis on January 22. Clearlake Capital Group, a THQ bidder, has agreed to sell the franchises belonging to the bankrupt THQ. This is according to a quick tweet from DDI made earlier today.

At this point, there is really no saying where some of your favorite titles will end up. Electronic Arts is one of the interested parties looking to possibly pick up some of THQ's franchises. If this happens, it is entirely possible you may see such franchises like Metro, Saints Row, and Red Faction becoming Origin exclusives.

This news comes less than a month after THQ filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy and after Jason Rubin tried to assure fans that everything would be alright.

i dislike when publishers buy other companies, it reduces creativity, lessens their production time, it just destroys companies examples, DICE, Westwood, Infinity Ward. this is all in my most honest opinion, i value devs, but i dislike publishers i am sure that many might agree with me on this.

on a side note if Westwood was still alive then RA3 would have been epic not some cartoon trash with hot women.
