American McGee has run out of funding for his latest project. Just like every single other developer, big or small, he has taken to Kickstarter to try and wrestle up $200,000 in additional funding.
So what exactly is Akaneiro: Demon Hunters? Well, first of all it's being billed as a "free to play ARPG with classic design sense meets fast-paced action, inspired by Japanese themes and the Red Riding Hood tale." Did you catch all of that? Maybe a YouTube video will explain better.
So what does $200,000 get that the months of development beforehand couldn't achieve? Well, it means that Akaneiro will also be released on Android and iOS devices. It means that co-op multiplayer will be included. It also means that the game's equipment crafting system will be more fully realized. There's a bunch of other features, more minor in nature, that will also be more refined.
