    Resident Evil 6 PC Gets a Release Date, Free Title Update on Consoles, and More

    We've got like a triple threat of Resident Evil 6 news for you today. First up, the PC version of the game has been given a release date and system requirements. The PC version of the game is slated for release on March 22, 2013 in North America and Europe. It will be available as both a digital and physical media release.

    Both versions will include all of the content released on the console version, including the free updates such as Ada Wong's campaign and the No Hope difficulty. It will also make use of Steam functionality such as Cloud saveds, achievements, friends, and leaderboards.
    Minimum specs
    • OS: Windows Vista/XP, Windows 7, Windows 8
    • Processor: Intel CoreTM2 Duo 2.4 Ghz or better, AMD AthlonTM X2 2.8 Ghz or better
    • Memory: 2 GB RAM
    • Hard Disk Space: 16 GB free hard drive space
    • Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce 8800GTS or better
    • DirectX: 9.0c or greater
    • Sound: Standard audio device

    Recommended specs
    • OS: Windows Vista/XP, Windows 7, Windows 8
    • Processor: Intel CoreTM 2 Quad 2.7 Ghz or better, AMD PhenomTM II X4 3 Ghz or better
    • Memory: 4 GB RAM
    • Hard Disk Space: 16 GB free hard drive space
    • Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 or better
    • DirectX: 9.0c or greater
    • Sound: Standard audio device

    Not to be left out in the cold, console owners of the game will get a second big, free update for the game on January 22, 2013. The second free update will include the following changes and goodies.
    Agent Hunt Mode
    • Available without having to complete a campaign
    • Selectable criteria for joining a session
    o Stage selection
    o Region selection
    o Players can determine whether to join a session based on campaign player’s settings such as infinite ammo or friendly fire setting

    Stage selection
    • Individual stages within chapters can be accessed at any time once completed

    General
    • QTE assist
    o QTE assist is currently part of the Amateur difficulty level, and automatically completes QTEs for the player. With this update, players can optionally activate QTE assist on any difficulty level.
    • Adjustments
    o Some sections of the game have had their difficulty adjusted to provide an improved experience

    Finally, those on the Xbox 360 will soon be able to purchase the game digitally through the 360's Games on Demand functionality.
