Windows 8 Surpasses 40 Million Sold Licenses

For as vocal as the naysayers are, Windows 8 has surpassed 40 million licenses sold since its release a month ago. The sales figures were revealed by Tami Reller, Chief Financial Officer and Chief Marketing Officer.

“The journey is just beginning, but I am pleased to announce today that we have sold 40 million Windows 8 licenses so far.”

The Windows team at Microsoft also dropped some stats on the Windows Store. So far, the app store has doubled in the number of apps compared to its launch. Some apps have already surpassed the $25,000 mark for revenues, with 80% of that going to the developer.

Might get it if it comes with the new laptop I eventually plan on getting and if its cheaper when I'm building a new rig than windows 7.
