Undoubtedly, this figure was helped out by the ongoing Autumn sale taking place. This also simply means that people were logged into the service, not necessarily playing a game. In fact, you don't even need to own a game to have been counted in this tally.
I really don't get why this is huge news, but everyone else is reporting it so why don't we join in as well. And yes, we would jump off a bridge if everyone else was doing it, why do you ask?
