Gearbox remarked today that they will not be bringing the insanely popular Borderlands 2 to the Wii U at any point. Why? The company simply couldn't come up with any port ideas that made them say "OMG".
However, don't think that Gearbox is excluding the Wii U from all of their titles. Aliens: Colonial Marines, due out next year, will be released on the Wii U. Obviously, the thought of having a real and tangible motion tracker certainly fits with the Wii U thought process.

“We get asked if there is going to be a Wii U version of Borderlands, and the reason why there’s not is because we couldn’t think of a natural, obvious, ‘OMG, I want that for what the Wii U brings to the table’ feature," said Randy Pitchford.
