Nuketown 2025 Pulled from Black Ops 2 Ranked Playlists After Double XP Event Ends

This might be the dumbest thing I've ever read or experienced as a gamer. Apparently, the special pre-order bonus map for Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, Nuketown 2025, will only be available on ranked playlists when Activision and Treyarch says you can play it.

Given how this past weekend was a special double XP event, Nuketown 2025 was featured prominently in its own playlist from the multiplayer menu. Once that event ended, the map disappeared. As it is not a part of the normal map rotation on any other playlist, the only way players can play in Nuketown 2025 is to wait until the companies say you can play it, or create a custom game with your friends.

Here is what Treyarch's David Vonderhaar had to say about this via Twitter (1,2).
"Double XP weekend is official over. That means Nuketown 2025 / 24-7 is as well. I know. RIGHT? Don't kill the messenger. +

Nuketown 2025 / 24-7 will be back for special events. You can always play it with your friends in Custom Games."

Some pre-order bonus, eh? Regardless of your opinion of the map itself, that might be one of the shittiest things I've ever seen a company do to their fans.

    LOL

I actually just got the game. I didn't have to pay for it, so I'll take it.

It's not that shitty, anyone who played the first Black Ops will have seen Nuketown hundreds of times so breaking it up like this is nice, also it's not like the game is short on maps.

So you're perfectly fine with a company promising and promoting the hell out of a special pre-order bonus, having the map say Nuketown 2025 24/7 on its play list, having there be ZERO mention that it was a limited deal from all involved prior to it actually happening?

I'm not bothered at all. That map is a clusterfuck. Yes, it's a dick move - there's no doubt about it. But meh.

Also I read somewhere that it's back under a playlist called Chaos Moshpit - haven't checked though.

So they sell the preorder on the fact that you get Nuketown 2025 with no mention of only limited engagements and then pull it a week after release, wow. Now they are introducing a new playlist by popular demand and throw a rather random groups of maps some of which really don't lend themselves to fast and fun game play that features Nuketown. Bull****!
