PC Version of Grand Theft Auto 5 is 'Under Consideration' at Rockstar

In speaking with IGN, Rockstar Games' Dan Houser explains the current state of any potential PC or Wii U version of Grand Theft Auto 5. His comments may not be what you want to hear, however.
“Everything else is up for consideration. That’s all I can give you. The main thing is we are not…we are a third-party publisher. We’re not Nintendo, we’re not Sony, we’re not Microsoft.

“We love all of them in different ways. But we can do what we want wherever there’s the appropriate business opportunity and chance to find a market. If that’s on Apple we put something on Apple.

“Wherever it might be. I think that’s the fun in what we do. We see ourselves as a content company that uses technology. We don’t make it; we use it to make the most fun stuff.”

Essentially, he's saying that they will make the games on platforms that will benefit them the most as a company. Given the lackluster sales of Max Payne 3 and L.A. Noire on the PC platform, it may stand to reason that Rockstar simply does not see the PC as being a worthwhile platform to develop for when stacked against the stronger console markets.

Nintendo's Reggie Fils-Aime is hopeful that Grand Theft Auto 5 will make its way to the Wii U.
“The folks there have said very nice public comments about the Wii U. In the end, it is Nintendo’s responsibility to have a large installed base, to have development tools that help the developers and publishers create great content, and essentially create an environment where teams like Rockstar can bring their very best content to our platform, and if we do that hopefully the very best content throughout the entire industry will show up on Wii U.”

You may want to start crossing your fingers for a PC version of Grand Theft Auto 5, because it looks like anything is possible still.

WHAT? He's mentioning different games! "OOH LA NOIRE DIDN'T SELL WELL ON THE PC SO WE ARE MIGHT NOT RELEASE GTA V THERE"
What the F?!??!! Where does that make any sense?!?!?
Also LA NOIRE had piss poor PC optimization, that's why people didn't like it there. I'd like to see him talking about GTA V or GTA SA. That would make it a fair comparison.

THE SLIGHT THOUGHT THAT THERE MIGHT BE A CHANCE OF IT NOT COMING OUT ON THE PC MAKES ME WANT TO STRANGLE SOMEONE

He never mentioned any specific games. I did. Note the areas with the quotes.

I don't think they would completely leave us out in the cold. Hell, they actually did make GTA IV in a playable state (from what I heard) after a few patches, rather than just leaving it untouched after release.

I think we are just not going to see it for a year or a year and a half. I personally just hope that RDR was an isolated incident (it came before LA noire, anyway)

Part of the reason LA Noire didn't do to well was not only the fact that it was a terrible port, but that many PC gamers do actually have consoles too. I didn't expect a PC release so I went ahead and bought it for console. If I had known they would release a PC version, I would have waited. But why wait if I am not sure?

MP3 was also another crappy port.

GTAV got fixed in the standalone expansions (TBOGT and The lost and damned) but the vanilla one didn't get that much fixed after tons of patches trying to address the same stuff
