Seven U.S. Navy SEALs have been disciplined for consulting work they provided on Danger Close's and EA's Medal of Honor: Warfighter. All seven of these SEALs are active members of SEAL Team Six, the group commonly associated with taking out Osama bin Laden, though only one of these seven were actually involved in the raid.
Deputy Commander of Naval Special Warfare, Rear Admiral Garry Bonelli, issued the following statement about the discipline and the reason for it.
The discipline received included letters of reprimand and a forfeit of half of their pay for two months. Though it may not sound like much, the letters of reprimand ruin their chances for promotion.

"Since we don't have a MOH section anymore and modern MOH titles are now on cycle with Battlefield I figured this would be a good place to post this. The consulting Seals that helped EA with Medal of Honor Warfighter gave the game makers classified info that was put into the game and now are getting into trouble about it. Its one thing to get in trouble for a game...but to get in trouble for such a bad game. Look who is talking, I ended up buying the game and I'm not enjoying it.")
Deputy Commander of Naval Special Warfare, Rear Admiral Garry Bonelli, issued the following statement about the discipline and the reason for it.
(His Command) "takes all allegations of misconduct seriously and conducts investigations to determine the facts. We likewise take seriously the Non-Disclosure Agreements signed by Sailors and adherence to the articles of the Uniformed Code of Military Justice (UCMJ)."
"We do not tolerate deviations from the policies that govern who we are and what we do as Sailors in the United States Navy. The non-judicial punishment decisions made today send a clear message throughout our Force that we are and will be held to a high standard of accountability."
