Entitled Gamers Petition Gearbox to Bring Back Dismemberment in Borderlands 2

Oh yes, the term "entitled gamers" has just been used here in a TGN headline. It seems as though a few gamers are upset over the lack of dismemberment in Borderlands 2. Compared to the first game, the gib count does seem a bit lower, and heads are not blown off by critical headshots as they were in the first game.

Apparently, this is a huge letdown for some gamers and they have started a petition to add back more gore to the game.

Although violence in the real world is a horrible thing...It was, in fact, an important part of the stylized feel of Borderlands 1. Toning down the violence in Borderlands 2 speaks to a world in which artistic integrity is compromised in order to appease to the groups who would speak out against such violence, and overall to avoid controversy. Developers need to be free to express their visions, this is a mature game and should be treated as such. The responsibility of shielding adolescent gamers from extreme violence is on their guardian, not the developer.

Weird, I don't recall ever thinking "man, this game is absolute crap because I can't blow a guy's head off!" Nor did I ever think to myself, "man, this sure seems like the artists were being creatively stifled here!"

How much have they added in to the game? Because I'm sitting here wondering if its a memory limitation.

I really hope they bring it back but its definitely not a game breaker for me, I loved it in the 1st one since I played (on PC ofc) with pretty much only sniper rifles and 1 shot headshot masher revolvers and every person I killed I took their head clean off. It was very satisfying and added alot to the game imo. The first sniper rifle I got in BL2 I immediately headshotted the closest bandit and was dissapointed that it didn't gib into a 100 different physx controlled red meat mush but It was still fun. But as I said, I hope they put it back or enable something in the menu that allows it like some games do but in the end if they don't the game is still GOTY imo.
