The team at Mojang passed along word they received from 4J Studios about what players of Minecraft on the Xbox 360 can expect in an upcoming update. Of note is the fact that the Adventure Update that was released for PC players some months ago is finally coming to the Xbox 360.
There was no announced release day for the update but it certainly looks like it's coming along quite nicely. Don't forget about those new avatar items, too!
