Lately, it seems as though Valve has been trying to bring over a few more Japanese developed titles onto Steam. Titles such as Recettear from Carpe Fulger and Half-Mintute Hero: Super Mega Neo Climax Ultimate Boy from Marvelous AQL are just two of the games either on Steam or coming soon to Steam.
According to Marvelous AQL, Valve got in touch with the studio and several others to try and get their titles onto the digital distribution platform.
For those unaware, Half-Minute Hero is a blend of RTS and action gameplay. You actually have just 30 seconds to save the world in some 60 different RPG scenarios found throughout the game. The studio, Marvelous AQL, has an interesting lineup of games that it could bring to the PC and the Steam platform, including No More Heroes.

According to Marvelous AQL, Valve got in touch with the studio and several others to try and get their titles onto the digital distribution platform.
"As I understand it, Valve got in touch with us! They’re keen on giving their users great options on their service and they contacted several Japanese publishers," Marvelous AQL producer Esteban Jose Salazar said to Siliconera. "I was actually hired on after MAQL had decided which game to publish. My first day they told me we’d be doing Half-Minute Hero on Steam and my grin was about a foot wide. I’m a huge fan of both. Valve has made it so easy for us to bring the game to Steam with their constant support and amazing publishing tools. Running development of a game in two languages (English and Japanese) can cause major headaches, but Valve was always prompt and professional in helping us out."
