Metal Gear Solid: Social Ops is New Mobile Title Running on Unity Engine

A new Metal Gear Solid game was announced during Konami's big 25th Anniversary event for the Metal Gear series today. Perhaps this isn't the news you wanted to hear, but a Metal Gear Solid title is in the works for the GREE platform.

GREE is a hugely popular mobile social platform in Japan. At last check, GREE had well over 26 million users with more pouring in after their acquisition of OpenFeint last year. Social Ops is being made on the Unity Engine and in full 3D. John Ricciardi notes that it closely resembles the look of Peacewalker, which is quite impressive seeing as how it's being run on mobile phones.
