Just picked up Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition for the PC and notice that it looks like a low-res pile of junk? Well, a user at Neogaf took just 23 minutes to fix the internal rendering resolution in the game and has released the fix to the public!
User Durante offers up a fix that will let you run the game at your native resolution, resulting in much clearer looking textures. For instance, if you have a 1080p monitor, it will actually render at 1080p instead of doing a horrible upscale job as it does by default. It's even possible, as some have found out, to internally render the game at a resolution that is higher than your native resolution, and then resize the output to your native resolution providing for almost free AA and even better looking visuals.
Be sure to read more on Durante's website and at Neogaf. Keep checking back over the next few days to find any updates to the fix that also fixes the text rendering issue.
