The third and final day of reveals for the Mann vs. Machine update coming to Team Fortress 2 is here! Today's update focuses on the new Mann Up mode, the new Decoy map, Tour of Duty tickets and badges, exceedingly rare special items, and Squad Surplus Vouchers.
Let's take a quick look at the Decoy map.
While the new Mann vs. Machine mode is free to play, another new game type called Mann Up will have a price of admission associated with it. What is the Mann Up Mode? Let's find out.
These items can be earned every time you complete an unfinished Mission. This, however will consume the ticket and a new one must be purchased to continue. When all missions are completed on a Tour of Duty Badge, a random rare item will be given. Items can also be obtained using Squad Surplus Vouchers. And what are Squad Surplus Vouchers?
If you lose the game, get disconnected, or recomplete an already completed Mission, your ticket or voucher will not be consumed. Look forward to the release of Mann vs. Machine at any moment now.

Let's take a quick look at the Decoy map.
Listen up, cake-babies! A robot army is coming to kill us! Lucky for you peach pies, I always knew this day would come – and I have been preparing for it! I have studied robots for years! I once stared at a toaster for three months to get into the minds of these monsters! And there are three things I know for sure: They are smarter than us! They are stronger than us! And they can make toast.
But if there is one thing we can do that these machines cannot, it is this: we can lie! We will lie to them on the beaches! We will lie to them in the beach parking lot! We may even lie to them on non-beach-related property! About the quality of our munitions! About the strength of our will! We will even lie about lying! That is how deep this rabbit hole goes! But the most important lie we will tell is this: Where the Mann Co. facilities are!
These rusty bags of cans have been programmed to attack all things Mann Co.! That is why we are here today, in front of this perfectly normal Mann Co. facility! But look closer! It is not an actual Mann Co. facility. I made it myself, using nothing but sweat and deception and lie-paint! We will lure the robots to this house of lies, and we will destroy them with our very real weapons and whatever it is the Scout does!

While the new Mann vs. Machine mode is free to play, another new game type called Mann Up will have a price of admission associated with it. What is the Mann Up Mode? Let's find out.
Q: What is Mann Up Mode?
When you play Mann vs. Machine on an official Mann Co. server, this is called Mann Up Mode. Mann Up Mode allows you to earn special item rewards and track your progress through various Missions. To enter Mann Up Mode, you must possess a Tour of Duty Ticket.
Q: What is a Tour of Duty Ticket?
A Tour of Duty Ticket gives you access to Mann Up Mode, and can be purchased from the Mann Co. Store for $0.99. You do not need a Tour of Duty Ticket to play Mann vs. Machine on non-Mann Co. servers (i.e.: not in Mann Up Mode).
Q: What is a Tour of Duty Badge?
A Tour of Duty Badge (ToDB) tracks your progress through a Tour of Duty. It will be automatically granted to you the first time you successfully complete a Mission in a Tour of Duty while in Mann Up Mode. Each successful Mission will be marked as completed on your ToDB. When you complete an entire ToDB, you'll receive a random rare item reward and an upgraded ToDB of a higher rank, allowing you to complete each Mission again to earn more items.

Q: What is a Squad Surplus Voucher?
If you present a Squad Surplus Voucher prior to starting a Mission in Mann Up Mode and then beat the Mission, you and every person on your team will receive an item, even if they did not present a Voucher themselves. Squad Surplus Vouchers are available in the Mann Co. Store for $1.99.
Q: Can a Squad Surplus Voucher be redeemed when not in Mann Up Mode?
No. Vouchers can only be redeemed in Mann Up Mode.
Q: What if more than one person on my team uses a Squad Surplus Voucher?
Everyone on your team will receive an ADDITIONAL item for each Voucher used. For example, if all six players in a Mission use a Voucher, everyone will receive six extra items upon completing the Mission. If only one person uses a Voucher, then everyone will receive one extra item upon completing the Mission. If the Mission is NOT completed, no Vouchers will be consumed, and no items will be granted.
