Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Pre-Orders Begin Today

Later today (August 7, 2012), pre-orders for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive will kick off on Steam.

This is just a friendly reminder to those looking to get in on the action the moment the game unlocks on August 21 for PC, Xbox Live Arcade, and the PlayStation Network. PlayStation Network pre-orders begin on August 14.

I'd love to pre-order this, but I think I'm satisfied with CS:S, even though I don't really play it anymore, and honestly in my mind, no version of CS today can ever beat CS 1.6.

Im really intrigued to see how the pre-orders for this game go. I think it could end up being a massive waste of time.

Yeah, Im with you guys. I personally think its going to be a huge hit and everyone then goes back to CS:S.

Who knows though, people love the same game re-wrapped and updated a bit, even though many claim otherwise.

Don't forget either that it's only $15.

Based off of the beta, it's well worth it. Plus, it's not like the other games are going anywhere either if you ever decide to go back to them.

I enjoyed the beta. Even if it is a re-skinning of sorts, $15 is a very generous price. Last time I purchased a version of Counter-strike, it came with Half-Life 2 nearly 8 years ago. At that price point, it will sell very well, and I expect to do especially well on the consoles. When DLC is 15-20, an entire game with a tried-and-true formula for the same price will be an easy sell. I stopped playing source for a while because it was it was hard to find a good server that wasn't on dust2/aztec/office rotation. I'm not a competitive player, and enjoyed playing a variety of maps. Hopefully a new audience will offer a change from the norm.

Yeah, forgot about the $15 tag. That and the fact all the other games are still there = huge hit.
