Zynga COO, John Schappert, Stripped of Duties

A bit over a year after he left EA for Zynga, the COO of Zynga, John Schappert, has been stripped of his duties. John Shappert was removed from his role of overseeing game operations at Zynga.

The Wall Street Journal reports that a reorganization of senior executives found Schappert no longer in charge of the company's titles. In his place is Chief Mobile Officer, David Ko and Executive VP, Steve Chiang. These two previously reported directly to Schappert but will now report directly to CEO, Mark Pincus.

This comes shortly after Zynga's stock took a massive nose-dive and after it was revealed that Facebook players have been spending less money on Zynga's titles. Oddly enough, despite the massive tanking of their stock, the company saw revenues of $332.5 million (USD), which is an increase of 19% compared to last year. However, those revenues were met with a loss of about $23 million and a dire outlook for the immediate future. Factors that led to the stock to plummet.

I heard some investors (Schappert and Google) cashed out before the stock crashed, now they're being charged with insider trading lawsuits.

I hope Zynga slowly burns and dies.:devilflame:

Indeed, I read that as well. Nothing is confirmed yet, and I had not heard Google being mentioned, only high level employees at Zynga.
