Kojima Denies Rumors of Metal Gear Solid 5 Logo

San Diego Comic-Con birthed the mother of all rumors when someone "leaked" what looked like an early logo for Metal Gear Solid 5. Fans hearts were a flutter for quite some time until both Kojima and Konami debunked the rumor quite quickly.

"Since I've received inquiries about the MGS5 title screen/the announcement made at ComicCon which I had no idea of, I looked up on the net and found the source," Kojima tweeted. "But please note that title logo is completely FAKE. I apologize to those who were looking forward. Anyway it proved I can still create the buzz."

[bSenior Producer Kenichiro Imaizumi also stated, "I've been asked about the screen shots of MGS5 on the game sites. These're ALL FAKE. We'll update when we're ready to announce."

While the logo may be fake, a new Metal Gear Solid is apparently in the works in some capacity given how the company has been hiring for the "next" game for quite some time now.
