Report: Battlefield 4 Beta Advertised on Origin

That headline is not a typo. It seems that a promotional ad on EA's Origin showcased pre-ordering Medal of Honor: Warfighter. Pre-order it and it seems you would get exclusive access to the Battlefield 4 beta?

The promotion seems to have disappeared for the time being, though I did not go digging too deeply into Origin. Nowhere else is Battlefield 4 mentioned let alone a beta for the game. However, this is not the first mention of the game made, as EA's Frank Gibeau confirmed Battlefield 4 in a candid remark made late last year. Let's not forget that Bad Company 3 was also spotted for a brief period on the resume early last year.

This isn't bad news either, it was always like that : one BF per year with a big BF approximately every two years.

If it's BF2143 it better be good because Planetside 2 is coming (unless it's a fail or 2143 have some really good innovations). At least for me.

$70 is for the Digital Deluxe edition. Their "limited edition" is the "typical" $60 we've all come to know and love for years.

So last MoH gave us access to BF3 beta, which came out a year later.

So, there's a possibility BF4 will come out Fall 2013 or Early 2014. Which is also a possible release window for new consoles ( Early 2014 makes more sense) Could they be aiming BF4 for a launch title for them? Maybe to win some 'next gen terrain' over COD?

good news and bad news, i dont know but if anything i believe a 2014 release of 2015 maybe? i dont know but its best to study from battlefield's history of game release records.

I don't get what people are bitching about.. if you truly do keep up with EA and DICE related news, you would know that DICE is in charge of the Battlefield franchise, and not EA. The head of DICE also mentioned that the modern combat setting is getting a little stale and is being milked by alot, so that means they are heading in the right direction with Battlefield 4. Also, every Battlefield game's release date has been almost a year apart. EA might try to turn BF into a COD series, but DICE will never allow it. DICE is Europe's version of Valve.

Well with the way BF3 and MW3 turned out, I think I'm on the waiting for the discount bandwagon. Not that I have anything major against BF3, its fun, but some of the stuff killed it for me like the rail AC-130 (my old DC flight crew friends almost rioted on me when I told them). Black Ops still seems to have a good story, MW is dead to me after IW left (MW3 really didn't feel right). Fututre is looking very BLACK (in a bad way).

EDIT BF3 only really ran satisfactory after I got an i7 CPU in my system, I will hate to know what the system specs for BF4 could be.

Probably about the same to be honest. I think if they do release BF4 in 2013 then its going to definitely use the same engine, with a bit of polish over the last iteration. Not to sound like a heinous alarmist but if EA are pushing for a cycle release with MoH then it looks like it will take a similar form to the recent CoD games, using the same engine with "polish" for several years.

Though I think the BF4 thing may have been "Leaked" in the way that they were testing waters for a reaction, as it has also been reported that all reference of the beta has been so far removed, with a tweet (also removed and I understand that you take tweets with a grain of salt) saying something akin to "There is not BF4, if its not on battlefieldblog.com its not true".
